Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken

In an effort to provide full disclosure, you should all take note that when it comes to Rachel Van Dyken books, I usually look a little something like this . . . .

Please note that I do not know this woman at all and she’s probably a little terrified of me by now because I declare my giant girlcrush on her pretty much all the time, but she is definitely an instant-request for me at this point. That doesn’t mean I’m a pushover when it comes to handing out the Starzzzzz, though, so don’t get it twisted. I’ve high-starred and low-starred and everywhere-in-the-middle-starred her stuff.

Our first meeting with Blaire, the female lead in Dirty Exes, goes a little something like this . . . . .

Bad news is, the end goal of crawling through a public sewer system is not the paradise of Zihuatenejo, but instead is to catch a cheater in the act of cheating for her private investigation company. Good news is, things didn’t get as bad as they can get when it comes to the sewer . . . .

So I was instantly in and was ready to declare to Rachel Van Dyken once again . . . .

However, something was holding me back. First, I thought it was simply the mention of a wardrobe full of LuLuLemon which makes me say . . . .

There was something else that didn’t add up for me with respect to Blaire’s cheating husband and the return of the “one who got away.” It took a bit, but eventually it came out that the dude she has been pining over for years and who is now the alleged cheater her client (his WIFE) has hired her to investigate was only her boyfriend for like three weeks so girlfriend might have loooooooooooooooooooots of issues and I was like, oh Blaire . . . .

But then there was a little twist to things that I’m not going to spoil here because it would ruin all the fun. And let me tell you it ended up so much fun! Not to mention the dirty bidness . . . .

I’m giving this 3.5 Stars because of the aforementioned things that made my hinky meter go haywire, but I’m rounding up rather than down (this would be an excellent time for GR to have a half star option because I truly feel 3.5 on this one) because it ended up being a super cute and fluffy good time, but more so because I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. for the next one in the series (which is pretty much par for the course with me when it comes to Van Dyken’s books).
